ComputerWorks appraised for Capability Maturity Model Integration: Level 2

ALBANY, NY – October, 2008 – Albany-based software developer ComputerWorks has announced that the company has been appraised and rated at Level 2 of CMMIŽ (SEI SCAMPI version 1.2 A) by SEI-authorized Lead Appraiser Darryl Davis of Davis Systems.

Capability Maturity Model IntegrationŽ (CMMI) — developed by the Carnegie MellonŽ Software Engineering Institute (SEI) — is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes. It can be used to guide process improvement across a project, a division, or an entire organization. CMMI helps integrate traditionally separate organizational functions, set process improvement goals and priorities, provide guidance for quality processes, and provide a point of reference for appraising current processes.

The ComputerWorks team has embraced the CMMI approach at every level of its organization, from development right through customer service, in order to improve their engineering capabilities, software products, and support services. "We will continue to move forward with our process improvement efforts, utilizing the CMMI model as we work toward a Level 3 rating," said Greg Rosano, CEO and president of ComputerWorks. "We believe that the end results will be better products and services for our customers."
